Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in their own homes. This vital role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence through personalized care plans. As an In Home Caregiver, you will be a trusted companion and caregiver, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene
- Monitor patient health status by observing vital signs, recognizing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately
- Support medication administration according to care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking
- Provide transportation assistance for medical appointments, errands, or community outings to promote social engagement and independence
- Use proper manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safety during mobility assistance
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces
Experience
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities support, or senior care is highly desirable
- Group home experience or assisted living experience is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your ability to provide specialized support
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in patient observation, medication administration, patient monitoring, and HIPAA compliance is a plus
- Experience working with patients with autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders demonstrates your adaptability and understanding of diverse needs
- Long-term care experience or home health background will strengthen your ability to deliver consistent quality care in various settings
