Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Civil Foreman to lead field operations on Underground Utility Construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive civil construction experience, and underground pipe utility work. This role is responsible for supervising crews, coordinating daily activities, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct field crews on heavy civil construction projects.
- Assist with site layout, excavation, grading, underground utility installation, concrete work, and other civil construction activities.
- Coordinate daily work activities, manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and project schedules.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project requirements and quality standards.
- Maintain production goals while promoting a safe and productive work environment.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors
- Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor project progress and communicate field updates to management.
- Maintain daily reports, timekeeping records, and documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate equipment usage and material deliveries.
- Identify and resolve field issues to minimize project delays.
- Participate in project meetings and planning activities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction.
- Previous experience as a Civil Foreman, Lead Foreman, or Civil Supervisor.
- Current OSHA 30 Certification (Required).
- Current HAZWOPER 40 Certification (Required).
- Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, utility installation, earthwork, and site development.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience coordinating crews, subcontractors, and equipment.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to multiple job sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Procore or other construction management software.
- Knowledge of project scheduling and production tracking.
- CDL license is a plus.
Work Schedule
- 10 hour shifts
- Monday through Friday
- Weekends as needed
- On-site position requiring travel to various project locations
