Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our manufacturing and construction team. This role involves performing precise welding, fabrication, and fitting tasks on various metal materials to produce high-quality components and assemblies. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with a variety of welding techniques, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to complex projects on construction sites and in fabrication shops, ensuring safety, accuracy, and efficiency at every stage.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications to guide fabrication and assembly processes.
- Perform welding operations using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Fabricate metal components by cutting, shaping, drilling, and assembling sheet metal and other metal materials using plasma cutters, power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment.
- Measure materials accurately with calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fit-up.
- Use fabrication shop equipment such as plasma cutters, grinders, drills, and hand tools to complete projects efficiently.
- Assemble fabricated parts on-site or in the shop while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of safety and craftsmanship.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and inspect finished products for quality assurance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops with metal fabrication projects.
- Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for accurate fabrication.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations and construction environments.
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes and mechanical fabrication.
- Experience working with sheet metal fabrication and understanding of different metal materials.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in fabrication tasks.
- Knowledge of American Welding Society (AWS) standards is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour
