Job Overview
Rosebay Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or MFT Intern (MFTi) to join our team as a Primary Therapist for our high acuity mental health primary outpatient treatment program. In this role, you will be an integral part of our clinical team, providing high-quality, evidence-based care to our clients. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician to ensure the highest standards of professional growth and patient safety.
Duties
- Conduct intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning for diverse client populations.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral management techniques, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to ensure client safety during emergencies and manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management protocols.
- Collect and document medical records, clinical notes, and treatment progress in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Engage in case management activities including patient assessment, treatment coordination, and collaboration with other service providers for comprehensive care.
Qualifications
- Current registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an AMFT or MFT Intern.
- Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and behavioral therapy.
- Strong clinical foundation with a passion for treating disorders like bipolar, schizophrenia, BPD, PTSD and MDD.
- Experience conducting intake evaluations, diagnostic assessments using ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems, and managing patient records within HIPAA guidelines.
- Background in crisis intervention, crisis management, or PTSD care is desirable for handling urgent situations effectively.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to mental health counseling.
- Previous hospital or outpatient clinical experience involving mental health counseling or behavioral health services will be considered a strong asset.
