Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. This role involves daily interaction with animals, ensuring their health and well-being while maintaining cleanliness in the kennel facility. The successful applicant will be responsible for handling various breeds of dogs and other animals, demonstrating strong customer service skills when interacting with pet owners.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist with dog training and socialization activities as needed.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and behaviors.
- Support veterinary staff during examinations or treatments when necessary.
- Perform heavy lifting as required when moving animals or cleaning equipment.
Qualification
- Knowledge of dog training techniques is beneficial
- Strong customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with animal care.
- Ability to lift, bend, kneel, and squat. No medical limitations preventing that.
