Quality Staffing Specialists are currently seeking skilled Registered Nurses to work within the hospital inthe Intermediate Neurosciences & ENT Care Unit.
The Intermediate Neurosciences and Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery (ENT). The unit has 18 beds available to serve the varying needs of our patient population, including 4 beds designed for Epilepsy monitoring. Unit cares for patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, brain tumors, epilepsy, spine injury, neuromuscular illness, neurodegenerative illness, neurotrauma, and central nervous system infections. ENT patients are predominantly present with head and neck malignancies and require a variety of surgical interventions involving the head, mouth, tongue, jaw, thyroid, and oropharynx.
Patient Populations: The unit provides intermediate-level step-down care for a wide range of highly specialized needs.
Neurological Conditions:
- Ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes
- Brain tumors and neurotrauma
- Epilepsy and central nervous system infections
- Spine injuries and neuromuscular/neurodegenerative illnesses
ENT & Head & Neck Conditions:
- Head and neck malignancies/cancer
- Surgical interventions involving the head, tongue, mouth, jaw, thyroid, and oropharynx
Required Skills/Experience:
- Must have 1 year of Neuro/ENT experience (Progressive Care)
- Must have previous charge nurse experience
- EMR: Epic experience required
- Trauma experience preferred
Location: Chapel Hill, NC
Rate:
- $1,944/weekly (travel rate, you must reside >60 miles from the facility to qualify)
- $1,764/weekly (local rate, if you reside <60 miles from the facility)
Shifts Available: Nights: 7:00 pm-7:00 am, 3x12 hours per week
**Unit is open to 48-hour contracts**
Scheduling Requirements:
- Length of contract: 13 weeks
- Hours per week: 36-48
- Weekends: every other required
- Holidays: every other required
- No Call
Credential Requirements:
- Resume reflecting all experience & explanation of gaps in employment
- RN License in North Carolina or Compact Licensure
- BLS Certification (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS Certification (AHA or ARC)
- NIHSS/Stroke Scale
