Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Secretary/Treasurer to provide vital administrative support within our organization. This role is essential in ensuring smooth operational workflows, maintaining accurate financial records, and facilitating effective communication across departments. Duties
- Financials: Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and deposits using QuickBooks.
- Payroll & Taxes: Process payroll via UPunch software and submit quarterly federal and state tax reports.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports, including Profit/Loss and Budget vs. Actual summaries.
- Meetings: Attend Council meetings, record official minutes, and post agendas in compliance with the Sunshine Act.
- Records: Preserve all borough ordinances and bylaws and maintain the corporate seal.
- Utilities: Oversee monthly water billing and coordinate regarding past-due accounts and shut-off notices.
- State Filings: Track Liquid Fuels funds and submit annual reports through the PennDOT portal.
- Light janitorial duties, include but not limited to vacuuming, dusting around the office, tidying bathrooms, etc.
- Not all duties are be listed, this is the main scope of work that will be your day to day.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounting roles with familiarity in public accounting, governmental accounting, or non-profit sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliation, balance sheet analysis, and financial report writing.
- Proficiency in accounting software including Quick Books, Microsoft or equivalent platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Legal Compliance: Ability to adhere to the Pennsylvania Municipal Records Manual and the Borough Code.
- Bonding: Must be able to provide a performance bond in an amount set by the Council.
- Accountability: Ability to work independently while following decisions made by Council vote.
Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour
