Administrative Assistant II – Community Development Authority
The City of Wausau is seeking an organized, dependable, and customer-focused Administrative Assistant II to join our Community Development Authority (CDA) team.
This is more than a traditional administrative support position. You'll work directly with tenants, housing applicants, staff, and members of the public while helping support housing programs that make a difference in our community. Position Details:
Starting Pay: $22.78 per hour or higher, depending on qualifications
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

What You'll Do:
In this position, you'll provide administrative and customer service support for the Community Development Authority, including:
- Serve as a first point of contact for tenants, housing applicants, visitors, and members of the public.
- Assist with housing applications, appointments, unit tours, tenant wellness checks, and tenant activities.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, notices, newsletters, calendars, and meeting materials.
- Coordinate appointments, meetings, schedules, and events.
- Accept and process rent and related payments and maintain accurate tenant records.
- Maintain program records, spreadsheets, applicant waiting lists, and tenant information.
- Research and compile rent reasonableness information for the Housing Choice Voucher program.
- Coordinate maintenance work orders and maintain related records.
- Assist with grant and Community Development Authority project information.
- Provide administrative support for special projects and other Community Development activities.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to stay organized while balancing multiple responsibilities.
You'll also need to be comfortable working with confidential information, learning new programs and processes, using good judgment, and interacting professionally with people from a variety of backgrounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One or more years of increasingly responsible administrative experience.
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the position may be considered.
Preferred: Associate degree in administrative support, office administration, business, or a related field.
