Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service through clear communication and attentive listening
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges swiftly
- Manage cash handling procedures with precision, including counting cash, giving correct change, and balancing registers at shift end
- Assist customers with product demos and answer questions about merchandise to promote sales and enhance shopping experiences
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure products are attractive and accessible
- Upsell relevant products by identifying customer needs and recommending additional items to increase sales
- Follow phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely, ensuring professionalism at all times
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; we welcome motivated newcomers eager to learn
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills are essential for accurate transactions and cash handling
- Strong communication skills in English are required; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in advancing into leadership roles within retail sales or merchandising
- Experience conducting product demos or upselling can help you excel in this role by engaging customers effectively
- Knowledge of retail math, merchandising techniques, and grocery store operations will support your success in maintaining an organized sales floor
