Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers
- Assist with menu planning and meal preparation to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety management protocols
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication and coordination during food production
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and safety standards in production
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality and consistency
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food service or restaurant environment, preferably as a line cook or dietary aide
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, including slicing, knife skills, and recipe adherence
- Familiarity with dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork with kitchen staff
- Knowledge of food safety standards in production and food handling procedures
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering is desirable
- Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
