Duties
- Supervise children during play, learning activities, meals, naps, and outdoor time to ensure safety at all times
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum focusing on childhood development, social skills, and early education principles
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about children’s progress, needs, and any concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that promotes safety and engagement
- Follow mandated reporting laws to report any signs of abuse or neglect promptly and appropriately
- Administer first aid or pediatric first aid in case of minor injuries or emergencies with confidence and care
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized attention as needed
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings
- Strong knowledge of child development instruction, behavior management, and classroom management techniques
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent interaction and teamwork within the childcare environment
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with energy, patience, and enthusiasm
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and best practices in childhood caregiving
