Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Accountant to join our manufacturing team. The Accountant will manage financial records, ensure compliance with regulations, and assist in financial reporting and analysis to support the company’s operational and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management regarding performance improvements.
2. Cost Accounting:
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems to improve profitability.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Track budget variances and report findings to management.
4. Audit and Compliance:
- Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and internal controls.
5. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Reconcile accounts and handle discrepancies promptly.
6. Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with appropriate departments to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Assist in inventory valuation and conduct periodic physical inventory counts.
7. Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations.
- Stay updated on tax changes that may affect the manufacturing sector.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an accountant in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or equivalent certification.
- Experience with cost accounting and budgeting in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and compliance issues.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with some time spent on the manufacturing floor.
- May require lifting of moderate weights and standing for long periods during audits and inventory counts.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
