Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive construction estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and bid documents using tools like Bluebeam and HeavyBid software.
- Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs, pricing analysis, and cost evaluations to ensure accurate budgeting for each project.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to negotiate contracts, scope of work, and pricing terms that align with project goals.
- Assist in establishing cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle to stay within budget while maintaining quality standards.
- Analyze construction site conditions and incorporate site-specific factors into estimates to enhance accuracy.
- Support contract review processes by interpreting terms, scope, and risk factors associated with each bid or proposal.
- Contribute to project management efforts by providing reliable cost data that informs scheduling, resource allocation, and procurement strategies.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles, including contracts, project management practices, and cost control techniques.
- Proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent tools; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of construction site operations and safety protocols gained through hands-on site experience.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with clients and subcontractors.
- Familiarity with construction pricing strategies, bid preparation processes, and contract documentation.
