Senior Field Service Technician – 5K Sign-On Bonus
A well-established defense industry organization is seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to support mission-critical diesel engine and controls systems across customer and military support sites throughout the U.S.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level technician who enjoys advanced troubleshooting, travel, and hands-on technical field work involving diesel engines, PLC controls, electrical systems, and pneumatic equipment supporting critical operations and defense-related applications.
The ideal candidate is a strong independent troubleshooter with experience diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical systems in demanding environments.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, maintain, and commission diesel engine systems and related equipment
- Perform advanced field service work involving electrical controls, PLC systems, pneumatic systems, and electronic engine controls
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, technical diagrams, and service manuals
- Support inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, commissioning, and emergency service activities
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
- Travel to customer and support sites throughout the U.S. to support mission-critical equipment
- Complete detailed service documentation and communicate professionally with customers and internal teams
- Work independently while maintaining high safety, quality, and compliance standards
What We’re Looking For
- Strong proficiency troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines, electrical controls, and related systems
- Strong understanding of pneumatic systems, PLC controls, and electronic engine controls
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and wiring schematics
- Experience performing field service, industrial maintenance, marine diesel, power generation, heavy equipment, or related technical work
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
- Professional communication and customer-facing skills
- Comfortable with frequent travel and field-based work environments
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- No dual citizenship permitted due to defense industry requirements
- Ability to successfully pass applicable background, compliance, and employment screenings
- Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Backgrounds
Experience in the following environments is highly valued:
- Defense industry equipment support
- Marine diesel systems
- Power generation equipment
- Industrial engine systems
- Heavy equipment service
- Electro-mechanical troubleshooting
- Military engineering or engine room experience
- CAT, Cummins, MTU, Detroit Diesel, Fairbanks Morse, Waukesha, or similar equipment experience

This is a travel-based field service role supporting customers and operational sites across multiple U.S. locations. Candidates should be comfortable with frequent travel and working in industrial and field environments.
