Kennedy Donovan Center (KDC) is seeking a compassionate, dedicated individual to become a Shared Living Respite Caregiver. In this unique opportunity, you will accompany an adult with developmental or intellectual disabilities and provide a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes independence, dignity, and community engagement.
As a Shared Living Respite Caregiver, you will support a female individual with daily living activities while fostering a safe, stable, and enriching environment. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to build a lasting relationship and make a direct impact on someone’s quality of life.
Schedule: 30 hours/week with flexibility
Compensation: $20/hour (taxable)
**Housing on Nantucket is not provided**
Provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment
Assist with daily living skills such as cooking, hygiene, and daily living skills
Support medical and personal care needs (as needed)
Facilitate community involvement, socialization, and recreational activities
Maintain documentation and communicate regularly with the KDC care team
Collaborate with case managers and clinical staff to support individual goals

Must be 18 years or older
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship
Ability to pass background checks (CORI/BRC, fingerprinting, etc.)
Experience in caregiving, human services, or a related field preferred—but not required
Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach
