Job Overview
We are seeking a caring, energetic, and dedicated Lead Toddler Teacher to join our Montessori community. The Lead Toddler Teacher will create a nurturing and engaging classroom environment that supports children as they develop independence, confidence, social skills, and a love of learning.
The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and understands the unique developmental needs of toddlers. This role involves preparing a safe and stimulating classroom environment, building strong relationships with families, and guiding children through meaningful learning experiences rooted in Montessori principles.
Duties
- Create and maintain a prepared Montessori classroom that encourages exploration, independence, and self-directed learning
- Support toddlers in developing practical life skills, language development, social-emotional growth, and early academic readiness
- Observe and document children's progress and developmental milestones
- Establish consistent classroom routines that promote security, confidence, and independence
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's development, daily experiences, and classroom progress
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, licensing, and school policies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Collaborate with school leadership and classroom assistants to provide a positive learning experience for every child
- Participate in staff meetings, school events, and ongoing professional development opportunities
Requirements
- Experience working with toddlers or young children in a childcare, daycare, Montessori, or early childhood education setting
- Montessori experience preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Dependable, organized, and committed to providing high-quality care and education
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
