Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Perform therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy and other manual techniques to alleviate pain and improve function.
- Support patient care activities by monitoring progress, providing encouragement, and ensuring safety during therapy sessions.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, mobility strategies, and discharge care plans to promote continued recovery at home or in outpatient settings.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatment sessions, patient responses, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist with clinical preparations including setting up equipment, sterilizing tools, and managing therapy supplies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning and ensure seamless transitions between care environments.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Physical Therapy Assistant in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy.
- Familiarity with care plans for diverse populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, and patients in acute or outpatient care.
- Ability to support patient care through compassionate communication and attentive assistance during therapy sessions.
- Experience with discharge planning processes and implementing therapy interventions aligned with physician directives.
- Skilled in documenting clinical activities accurately while adhering to healthcare standards and confidentiality requirements.
- Certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant is required; additional skills in outpatient therapy or clinic experience are highly valued. Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
