Position Summary:The Lead Social Worker (LSW) is responsible for day-to-day work related to foster care cases. The primary focus of the LSW is to provide education, support and post- placement services to foster Caregivers and youth from multiple countries, faiths and ethnicities in a faith based setting. This position requires the applicant be a Mastered Level Social Worker and one who truly loves work in a setting consistent with our mission.
Responsibilities:
Must have full understanding of California rules and regulations surrounding foster care.
Must meet all requirements for MSW and possible supervision of other interns.
Conduct initial intake and informational meetings with prospective Caregiving families.
Train, support and assess readiness of prospective foster parents.
Strong experience in SAFE Assessment Home Studies.
Provide Post Placement reporting and services.
Strong experience in Home Visits and reports, ISP, NSP, TILP, Ansel Casey Assessments, Biopsychosocial Assessments, Child Studies and other reports, CFT and assessments.
Adhere to program standards, procedures, licensing and requirements.
Compile case file documentation In a very tight timeline.
Schedule and conduct required in-home supervision visits after placement.
Assist families with behavioral tools.
Participate and/or conduct Education classes.
Help to facilitate events and participate in recruiting families.
Represent our agency with integrity and professionalism at all times.
Protect all confidential information and electronic data.
Comply with safety rules.
Other related duties as directed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have many years of experience as a social worker, strong attention to details, timeliness in reporting and behavioral management abilities.
Must have strong skills with Excel, Word and very detail-oriented.
Must have a strong sense of staying on task and a clear sense of personal boundaries.
Must have a strong knowledge of trauma based modalities and methods of helping children and families cope.
Ability to work in a variety of settings with culturally diverse groups.
Strong knowledge of adoption related state laws, child development/behavior, family dynamics and child placement procedures.
Experience in client interview and assessment techniques with SAFE ASSESSMENT background.
Must be able to effectively handle the highly charged emotions of clients.
Knowledge of community resources.
Professional networking skills.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
QualificationsSocial Worker (MSW) required. License preferred but not mandatory if strong experience in above.. Must have a minimum of TEN YEARS of experience in child welfare; refugee or UC child experience ; foster care experience; international experiences and mission travel a plus. Must be able to pass criminal and child abuse background clearances.Knowledge and adherence to Social Work Code of Ethics.Flexible schedule to work after hours and weekends, as necessary

Pay: $52,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year
