Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, implementing behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role is essential in providing support and promoting positive behavioral changes in clients, ensuring their well-being and development.
Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans as directed by the BCBA.
- Conduct patient assessments to evaluate progress and effectiveness of interventions.
- Provide direct support to clients during therapy sessions, focusing on skill acquisition and behavior modification.
- Utilize techniques from Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to encourage positive behaviors.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress, behaviors, and any necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Collaborate with families and caregivers to ensure consistency in behavioral strategies across environments.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in behavioral health practices.
Requirements
- Experience or training in behavioral therapy or applied behavior analysis is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to behavioral health is advantageous.
- Strong skills in patient care, including the ability to assess and respond to client needs effectively.
- Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation processes for individuals with autism and other disabilities.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse needs, including those on the autism spectrum.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of behavioral health.
- Completed background check through the Louisiana Behavior Analytic Board.
- Registration with the Louisiana Behavior Analytic Board to be completed at the beginning of employment
