Duties
- Collect, process, and handle biological specimens including blood, tissue, and other bodily fluids with strict adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols
- Perform laboratory tests such as ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), PCR (polymerase chain reaction), flow cytometry, immunoassays, and RNA extraction to support research and clinical diagnostics
- Isolate DNA and RNA from various sample types for downstream analysis or research purposes
- Manage laboratory information systems (LIS) for accurate data entry, sample tracking, and result reporting
- Conduct routine laboratory procedures including venipuncture (blood sampling), blood banking, specimen processing, and vital signs measurement
- Maintain meticulous records of all laboratory activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and quality control measures
- Support laboratory management tasks such as inventory control, equipment calibration, and adherence to safety protocols in a clinical or research setting
Experience
- Proven experience working in a clinical laboratory or research laboratory environment with hands-on expertise in laboratory techniques such as PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, and immunoassays
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and blood banking procedures
- Experience with specimen collection methods including venipuncture and phlebotomy in hospital or clinical settings
- Familiarity with laboratory management systems (LIS) for data management and reporting purposes
- Background in handling clinical trials or research projects involving assay development or validation
- Demonstrated ability to perform blood sampling accurately while maintaining aseptic technique
- Prior experience working with hospital staff or within healthcare facilities is highly desirable
