Rate: $15.00/hour + Tips (Baristas average $18-$22/hour at this location)
We are looking for a Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea. Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. You should be able to work most weekend shifts.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers as they walk up to the bar
- Answer customer questions as they arise
- Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
- Prepare & Server beverages following recipes
- Receive and process bar payments (cash and credit cards)
- Keep the bar area clean
- Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
- Prepare beverages for other guests in the dining room
- Take ToGo orders in person or over the phone, paying attention to detail to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Bag ToGo Orders and bring ToGo Orders to guests waiting at the bar
- Receive and process ToGo payments
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
Skills
- Previous work experience as a Barista
- Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
- Flexibility to work various shifts - Shifts start between 7am-9am, end between 1pm-3pm.
- Weekend availability is necessary.
