We're looking for energetic, dependable, and passionate coaches to help create an exceptional experience for our athletes and families during our Fall Flag Football season. If you love football, enjoy working with kids, and thrive in a positive, team-oriented environment, we'd love to meet you.
Position Details
Season: September 12, 2026 – November 1, 2026*
*Season dates may vary slightly by location and weather
Locations: Washington, DC - Maryland - Northern Virginia
Job Type: Part-Time | Seasonal
Program Schedule
Weekend Recreational Leagues
- Saturdays and Sundays
- Between 9:00 AM and 8:30 PM
After-School Programs & Practices
- Monday through Friday
- Approximately 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
We believe in making your own path. If you are someone who is interested in coaching beyond our Saturday and Sunday leagues, we encourage you to get more involved.
Schedules vary by location and availability and will be discussed during the interview process.
What You'll Do
- Lead and coach youth flag football players in practices, games, and skill-development activities
- Create a fun, safe, and positive environment for athletes of all skill levels
- Teach football fundamentals, sportsmanship, teamwork, and confidence
- Communicate professionally with parents, players, and fellow staff members
- Assist with field setup, equipment management, and game-day operations
- Serve as a positive role model and representative of Flag Star Football
What We're Looking For
The ideal coach is:
- Enthusiastic, energetic, and reliable
- Comfortable leading groups of children and young athletes
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Organized and able to think quickly in fast-paced environments
- Customer-service oriented and professional
- Passionate about youth development through sports
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation to and from league locations
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Access to a cell phone, email, and internet
- Commitment to the full season
Preferred
- Experience playing or coaching football
- Youth coaching experience
- Customer service experience
- CPR/First Aid certification
