We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Breakfast Attendant to join our team at Element Downtown Minneapolis North Loop. As the Breakfast Attendant for the front/back of the house, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of breakfast items and ensuring guests have an enjoyable start to their day. This position plays a key role in the quality and service of the complimentary breakfast offered to our guests, with responsibilities including preparing food for service, maintaining breakfast offerings during service, and maintaining a clean and organized breakfast area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation:
- Prepare breakfast offerings for the continental breakfast buffet.
- Ensure food is prepared according to hotel standards for taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
- Prepare beverages such as coffee, tea, and juice, maintaining proper serving temperatures.
- Monitor inventory of breakfast supplies and ensure timely replenishment of food items throughout the service period.
- Guest Service & Interaction:
- Greet guests in a friendly, professional manner and ensure they have everything they need for an enjoyable breakfast experience.
- Table checks to assist guests as needed.
- Clear dishes from tables.
- Assist guests with special dietary needs and requests, providing alternatives when necessary.
- Ensure the breakfast area is well-stocked, clean, and welcoming at all times.
- Health & Safety Compliance:
- Follow all food safety guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and temperature control of food items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, food preparation, and serving areas.
- Adhere to hotel policies and health regulations regarding sanitation and food handling.
- Maintenance & Cleanliness:
- Clean and sanitize all cooking equipment, utensils, and workstations regularly during and after service.
- Clear tables, wipe down surfaces, and ensure the breakfast area is neat and orderly during and after service.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the breakfast cook and other hotel staff to ensure smooth breakfast service and a high level of guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service or kitchen preparation preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work early mornings beginning at 5am.
- Ability to work weekends.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts based on hotel needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and carry food supplies or equipment.
- Ability to work in a warm kitchen environment.
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
