Hazard Construction is a leading general engineering contractor seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Yardman to join our team.
Duties
- Pick up supplies and parts as needed and deliver to shop and or jobs.
- Crush used spray cans & filters.
- Inspect shop for unlabeled containers.
- Monitor hazardous material storage area; Check for proper labeling. Clean up any spills.
- Clean up any spills or drips in shop or yard.
- Organize and clean the shop.
- Organize the parts and supply lockups.
- Trash control of shop area.
- Sweep / mop – as needed.
- Keep 4-post lift clean from oil and grease.
- Sweep / Blow yard.
- Keep the yard organized and free of hazards.
- Wash equipment and trucks.
- Clean wash bay area where vehicles and equipment are cleaned, including wash the walls and floor. Remove any dirt and construction material debris.
- Manage small tool return area.
- Maintain building exterior.
Requirements
- Prior experience in industrial or construction environments is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment repair and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations and OSHA safety standards
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, climbing, manual handling, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors
All Hazard Construction positions require satisfactory completion of a physical ability test and clean drug and alcohol screening.
