Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to join our dynamic property management team. Duties
- Assist in managing lease or rental agreement processes, including drafting, renewals, and terminations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards such as Landlord-tenant law and Fair Housing regulations
- Coordinate property leasing activities by conducting property tours, upselling available units, and engaging prospective tenants through excellent customer service and negotiation skills
- Support rent collection, data entry, and filing of all property-related documents using property management software such as Yardi and OneSite
- Facilitate property maintenance requests by liaising with maintenance teams and tracking work orders through CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools
- Help oversee tenant relations by addressing inquiries via phone or client communication channels with professionalism and courtesy
- Assist in budgeting tasks, expense tracking, and financial reporting to ensure properties operate within financial guidelines
- Support conflict management efforts by mediating tenant concerns and resolving issues promptly while adhering to legal administrative procedures
Qualifications
- Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles, with familiarity using property management tools like Yardi, OneSite, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of Landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and Section 8 housing programs
- Excellent customer service skills paired with effective negotiation and conflict management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for data entry, reporting, and communication tasks
- Previous experience managing lease agreements, contracts, and client relationships within a property management company environment
- Office experience with phone etiquette and administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and record keeping
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
- Team management skills are a plus for supporting collaborative efforts across departments
