Job Summary: The Project Manager takes full ownership of Tier Power Systems’ manufacturing projects immediately upon handover from the Sales staff. The PM serves as the primary client-facing point of contact from kickoff through manufacturing and shipment. Bridging the gap between external client expectations and internal execution, this role drives projects through engineering design, submittal approvals, procurement, factory assembly, shipment, and field service handoff. The PM actively manages project schedules, billings, and change orders while maintaining constant communication with electrical and mechanical engineers, contractors, and internal shop personnel to ensure high-quality custom gear is delivered safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- Takes 100% operational ownership of projects from Sales and establishes immediate and lasting contact with the client
- Understands the challenges, expectations, and improvement opportunities associated with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)
- Represents the company professionally, managing customer expectations with transparency, active listening, and strong de-escalation skills
- Drives submittal turnaround, engineering design approvals, and production milestones to meet or exceed promised shop ship dates
- Flags component lead-time threats, design redlines, or engineering delays early to internal management and clients with proposed solutions

Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience of 8+ years in project management experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or construction organization
- Experience and expertise within one or more fields: electrical, mechanical, construction, and/or Data Center
- Travel required upon company request
- Role requires periodic exposure to active assembly floors and electrical test bays. Must be comfortable wearing basic PPE (eye protection, steel-toe boots, etc.) as required
- Strong soft skills, like negotiation and conflict-resolution skills, when balancing client demands with shop capacity and component availability
- Technical & Business Knowledge: Working knowledge of project management principles, manufacturing processes, production scheduling, contract administration, budgeting, and ERP systems. Experience with engineered-to-order (ETO) manufacturing is preferred.
- Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities, solve complex problems, and effectively communicate with customers, vendors, engineering, manufacturing, and executive leadership.
Preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Functional understanding of relevant low-voltage standards and guidelines (e.g., UL 891, UL 1558, NEMA, ANSI, IEEE)
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing ERP systems (e.g. Epicor)
- Hands-on experience in fabrication, electrical, mechanical, and/or manufacturing
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Primarily works in an office environment with regular presence on the manufacturing floor to monitor project progress, coordinate with production teams, and support project execution. Occasional travel to customer sites, vendor facilities, or project locations may be required.
- Requires prolonged periods of sitting while working on a computer, attending meetings, preparing project documentation, and utilizing project management and ERP software, with frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the facility.
- Must be able to navigate an active manufacturing environment with exposure to moving equipment, industrial noise, electrical equipment, and varying temperatures while complying with all safety policies and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, vendors, and contractors, maintain visual attention to detailed project documentation, and occasionally lift or carry materials, drawings, or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
