Job Summary:
An Events and Communications Director leads the organization's public messaging, media relations, and major gatherings. Creates public awareness, manages brand image, builds corporate partnerships, and plans fundraisers, conferences, and virtual forums.
Description of responsibilities:
- Community networking to promote CARE services as an ambassador, including attending evening and weekend events as needed.
- Leads planning, execution, and organization of CARE’s special events and fundraisers.
- Tracks and provides coordination for agency programs and outreach events and conferences.
- Works in partnership with the social media contractor and agency to develop and execute the social media annual plan, demonstrating the ability to be innovative and diligent in social media content management.
- Coordinates with staff and agency to provide content to social media contractor.
- Ensures website maintains current information and coordinates updates with website contractor.
- Maintains records in agency CRM platform, NEON.
- Produces agency newsletter and coordinates each service line communications.
- Coordinates and organizes agency’s marketing efforts for digital platforms, print, and social media. This includes, but is not limited to, newsletters, annual reports, brochures, flyers, and social media.
- Ensures CARE banners and marketing materials are consistent in messaging and design while effectively placing them in the community.
- Independently completes quality work to meet deadlines.
- Ensures agency communications and written materials are free of spelling and grammatical errors.
- Ensure CARE branding is accurately maintained and publicly represented.
- Maintain a monthly marketing scorecard that measures impact on social media presence, website, and in the media.
- Assist in volunteer coordination and management as well as administrative support as needed.
Required experience:
- Minimum of two years of experience in marketing, event planning, and/or communications; nonprofit experience preferred.
Required skills/education:
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of study from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, WordPress, Hootsuite, Facebook Ads, and Canva preferred.
