Job Summary
ND Global Consulting Services, Inc. is hiring Food Service Technicians to support meal service operations at the Veterans Home of California â West Los Angeles. This role is responsible for assisting with food preparation, meal service, sanitation, tray line support, dishwashing, stocking, and other food service duties in a healthcare/institutional setting. The position supports residents, staff, guests, and catered events while maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and service quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and meal service for breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Support tray line and dining room meal service

Prepare beverages, desserts, salads, and simple food items

Deliver, pick up, load, and transport meal carts, food, supplies, and equipment

Set up and replenish assigned stations and serving areas
-
Wash dishes, pots, pans, carts, utensils, and kitchen equipment

Clean and maintain food service areas, workstations, floors, and related equipment
-
Maintain proper sanitation, food handling, and temperature standards

Restock snacks, condiments, and supplies
-
Assist residents/members during meal times
-
Participate in regular staff meetings and support special food service events as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Six months of experience in an institution, hotel, restaurant, or other food service setting serving food, cleaning food service areas, or assisting with preparation of food and beverages
OR
-
Completion of the eighth grade may substitute for the required experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
-
Knowledge of basic food preparation and food storage methods

Knowledge of sanitation and safety practices in food service areas

Ability to follow directions and maintain simple records

Ability to work efficiently in a team environment

Good personal hygiene and ability to work with a resident-care population

Ability to perform physical food service duties throughout the shift.
Work Environment / Schedule Notes

Services under the contract may be needed Monday through Sunday, including holidays, with operational coverage between 5:00 AM and 8:00 PM depending on assignment needs.

Assignments may be requested in 4-hour or 8-hour shifts, though the positions currently identified are for 11:00 AM â 7:30 PM.
