Further Music School is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Summer Music Camp Counselor to join our team for our 2026 Summer Music Camp. This position is ideal for a musician who enjoys working with children and can lead engaging music activities in a fun, supportive environment.
Schedule
- Monday–Thursday
- 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Seasonal summer position (July–August)
Compensation
- $35–$38 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging music activities for children ages 5–12
- Teach beginner to intermediate drums and keyboard/piano/band/voice
- Direct small group band rehearsals and ensemble activities
- Assist students in collaborative music-making, songwriting, and performance projects
- Supervise campers during activities and transitions
- Help prepare students for weekly showcases and performances
- Foster a positive, safe, and encouraging learning environment
- Collaborate with fellow instructors and camp staff
Qualifications
- Ability to teach drums and keyboard/piano/band/voice
- Experience performing or teaching in a band setting
- Experience working with children in educational, camp, or music program settings
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Reliable, organized, and enthusiastic
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, voice, or additional instruments)
- Music education or performance degree
- Experience leading rock bands, ensembles, or group music classes
