Duties
- Prepare ingredients through precise slicing, dicing, and portioning using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Assist in menu planning by preparing components of various dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Cook food items efficiently while maintaining quality, safety standards, and food handling protocols
- Support food preparation activities for catering events or daily service, ensuring timely delivery of meals
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to safety standards in production and food safety regulations
- Serve dishes with attention to presentation and customer satisfaction, supporting the overall food service process
- Follow all safety procedures related to food handling, storage, and sanitation to ensure a safe kitchen environment
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting is highly desirable
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles adds valuable insight into specialized meal preparation and safety protocols
- Demonstrated culinary experience with strong knife skills and slicing techniques
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments
- Experience in meal preparation, food handling, catering, or serving roles enhances ability to excel in this position
- Knowledge of menu planning and food service operations is a plus
