Position Overview
Cultivate Wellness Counseling is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) licensed in Maryland to join our growing remote practice as a 1099 independent contractor. This role is ideal for a provider who is passionate about delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care while collaborating with a team of licensed therapists in a supportive and client-centered environment.
As we expand our integrated behavioral health services, we are looking for a PMHNP who values holistic, culturally responsive care and is committed to helping clients achieve lasting wellness through thoughtful psychiatric evaluation and medication management.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations via telehealth.
- Diagnose mental health conditions using DSM-5 criteria.
- Develop individualized medication treatment plans based on each client's clinical needs.
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications within the scope of practice.
- Educate clients on medication options, benefits, potential side effects, and treatment expectations.
- Monitor treatment effectiveness and recommend appropriate laboratory testing when clinically indicated.
- Collaborate with therapists to coordinate care and support positive client outcomes.
- Complete psychiatric evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, ethical standards, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Participate in clinical consultation and occasional team meetings.
- Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
- Active, unrestricted Maryland Nurse Practitioner license.
- Active DEA registration and Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) registration, or ability to obtain prior to employment.
- Eligibility for credentialing with commercial insurance panels.
- Experience treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related disorders, bipolar disorder, and other common psychiatric conditions across the lifespan.
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach to care.
- Experience providing telehealth services and utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Alignment with the mission and values of Cultivate Wellness Counseling.
