Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Revenue Cycle Specialist specializing in Auto and Personal Injury Protection (PIP) claims. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the entire revenue cycle process, ensuring accurate billing, coding, and claims submission for auto insurance and PIP cases. Duties
- Review and analyze auto insurance and PIP claims to ensure completeness and accuracy before submission
- Apply appropriate medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes to facilitate proper billing
- Prepare and submit clean claims using billing software integrated with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collections efforts, resolving discrepancies promptly
- Maintain detailed documentation of all billing activities, claim statuses, and correspondence in medical records
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to verify medical records, coding accuracy, and compliance with insurance requirements
- Stay updated on healthcare claims management policies, health insurance regulations, and changes in coding standards to ensure compliance and maximize reimbursements
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10)
- Experience with medical billing software
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used in healthcare settings for accurate record keeping
- In-depth understanding of healthcare claims management processes specific to auto insurance and PIP claims
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with insurance companies, providers, and patients
- Knowledge of health insurance policies, billing regulations, and medical records management
- Ability to analyze complex medical bills, identify errors or discrepancies, and implement corrective actions efficiently
