We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Medical Billing and Collections Specialist to join our healthcare finance team. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the medical billing and collections team to ensure productivity, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.
- Oversee the submission of insurance claims across various payers, including Medicaid and Medicare, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Manage patient accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims, resolving denials, and implementing effective collection strategies.
- Ensure all billing activities align with hospital revenue cycle management protocols and industry best practices.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of health insurance policies, third-party billing procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Monitor electronic health records (EHR) management systems for billing accuracy and data integrity.
- Collaborate with clinical departments to verify patient information and streamline billing processes for optimal revenue recovery.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare regulations governing hospital billing practices.
- Proven experience in team management within a healthcare revenue cycle environment.
- Strong understanding of hospital revenue cycle management from patient registration through final collection.
- In-depth knowledge of health insurance policies, third-party payer requirements, and claims processing workflows.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and billing software platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address claim denials and payment discrepancies efficiently.
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members, insurance providers, patients, and clinical staff to facilitate smooth operations.
