Overview:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Standing Seam Operator is responsible for maintenance and operation of the panel roll former in a safe and efficient manner to meet internal and external customer needs.
Essential Functions:
- Promote and drive safety-first culture, ensuring the safety of employees, contractors, and visitors

Know and follow safety and emergency procedures as needed

Program and operate Standing Seam Machine in a safe and responsible manner to produce panels as per customer orders, while adhering to quality specifications and entering correct downtime/scrap codes

Build crates for packaging materials according to drawings

Package and band material in crates according to SOP
-
Routinely perform quality checks and make machinery adjustments as needed to provide customer with complete and damage-free product

Complete all daily orders
-
Effectively coordinate with all department team members to ensure materials tracking compliance and efficient and steady production flow

Maintain clean work area and workstation prep throughout shift

Complete housekeeping and workstation prep tasks prior to end of shift
-
Routinely perform preventative maintenance on machinery as per training

Troubleshoot and/or notify immediate supervisor of machine breakdowns or issues
-
Maintain and/or update department visual tracking metrics boards (feet per hour, scrap weights/footage, etc.)

Cross-train on other machines in the department and/or in other departments in the plant

Provide support in meeting and/or exceeding department and plant goals such as safety, quality, scrap prevention and operational excellence

Perform other duties as assigned.
