A&P Maintenance Supervisor – (Opa Locka, FL)

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day aircraft maintenance activities within the repair station, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and customer requirements. This position provides technical leadership to assigned technicians while coordinating manpower, workflow, quality standards, and schedule adherence throughout maintenance events.
The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with Program Managers, Quality Control personnel, and technicians to ensure aircraft are maintained to the highest standards and delivered on schedule.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Personnel Management:
* Provide daily supervision and direction to assigned maintenance technicians.
* Assign work packages and priorities based on aircraft schedules and operational requirements.
* Monitor technician productivity, work quality, and progress toward project milestones.
* Provide coaching, technical guidance, mentorship, and training to maintenance personnel.
* Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and professionalism.
* Assist with employee performance evaluations and development plans as requested.
Maintenance Operations:
* Coordinate and oversee maintenance, inspection, repair, and alteration activities on assigned aircraft.
* Ensure all maintenance is performed in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer maintenance manuals, and Empire Aviation USA procedures.
* Monitor maintenance events to ensure on-time aircraft delivery and efficient use of labor resources.
* Escalate manpower, tooling, parts, or technical issues that may impact aircraft schedules.
* Support troubleshooting efforts and provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel as required.
* Participate in maintenance activities when operationally necessary.
Compliance & Quality Oversight:
* Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and RSQCM requirements.
* Work closely with Quality Control personnel to ensure inspections, Required Inspection Items (RII), and Return-to-Service requirements are completed properly.
* Verify maintenance documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
* Monitor maintenance practices to ensure work is performed to established quality standards.
* Support internal and external audits as required.
Customer & Program Support:
* Provide accurate and timely aircraft status updates to Program Managers and customers as requested.
* Assist Program Managers in identifying schedule risks, maintenance findings, and additional work requirements.
* Support successful aircraft delivery by ensuring maintenance documentation and work scope completion are properly coordinated.
Safety & Facility Management:
* Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
* Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, FOD prevention practices, and housekeeping standards.
* Monitor tool accountability and ensure proper handling of company equipment.
* Ensure aircraft parts, panels, and components are properly identified, stored, and protected during maintenance events.
Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years of business aviation maintenance experience.
* Previous experience as a Lead Technician, Crew Chief, Floor Lead, or Maintenance Supervisor preferred.
* Strong working knowledge of FAA Part 145 and Part 135 maintenance requirements.
* Experience coordinating maintenance events from aircraft induction through return-to-service.
* Ability to interpret and apply aircraft maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, engineering orders, and technical data.
* Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Corridor maintenance software (a plus).
Licenses & Certifications Required:
* FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate (A&P)
* Minimum 5 years holding A&P Certificate preferred
* Valid Driver's License
* Valid U.S. Passport
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
Preferred Qualifications:
* Gulfstream, Bombardier, Citation, Falcon, Embraer, or Hawker experience
* Previous supervisory experience in a Part 145 Repair Station
* RII Authorization experience
* Experience managing multiple maintenance projects simultaneously
* Familiarity with maintenance planning and labor forecasting.
