JOB SUMMARY:
Reports to the Glass Science Team Lead and is responsible for performing test and analyses in support of project work. This position will need to be able to operate the various types of analytical equipment to perform the required tests successfully and appropriately. This position will need to be able to organize the test data in a concise and accurate method for analysis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (including other duties as may be assigned)
- Independent operation of analytical test equipment (SEM-EDS / FTIR / ICP-MS / Universal tester)
- Appropriate preparation of materials to be tested from SOPs and relevant guidelines (USP, ICH)
- Produce and maintain documentation for the appropriate operation of the analytical test equipment
- Compile and analyze data generated from analytical test equipment
- Maintain & calibration check lab equipment based on defined maintenance schedule
- Assist in R&D experimentation providing feedback on testing methods
- Supports GMS initiatives through team participation
- Observe all safety precautions, rules, and regulations
- Performs fractographical analysis and defect identification
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of Bachelors Degree in a Laboratory Science
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with operation of SEM-EDS / FTIR microscopy / ICP-MS equipment
- Additional UV-Vis spectrophotometer or Universal tester experience would be useful
- Experience in problem solving and data analysis
- Proficient with MS Office Products including a focus on Excel & PowerPoint
