At Holiday Inn Charlottesville - Monticello, we believe that a great stay starts with a spotless, comfortable room. As a Hotel Housekeeper, you are the backbone of our guest experience. You will ensure our guest rooms and public spaces are exceptionally clean, organized, and inviting, delivering the high standards of hospitality our guests expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Room Cleaning & Preparation: Clean, dust, polish, and vacuum guest rooms to IHG/Holiday Inn brand standards. Change bed linens, make beds perfectly, and sanitize bathrooms.
- Amenity Replenishment: Restock room supplies, including towels, soaps, shampoos, coffee stations, and guest informational materials.
- Detail Orientation: Check that all electronic devices (TVs, remotes, lights, climate control) are functioning properly and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Public Area Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of hallways, lobby spaces, and other public areas as assigned.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety, sanitation, and chemical-handling guidelines. Report lost-and-found items promptly following hotel protocol.
- Guest Service: Greet guests warmly in the hallways, provide polite assistance or directions when asked, and respect guest privacy signs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Previous housekeeping or custodial experience is a plus, but we are fully prepared to train individuals with the right attitude and work ethic.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs, and moving your whole body—such as lifting up to 25–30 pounds, bending, walking, stretching, and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: A sharp eye for cleanliness, organization, and presentation.
- Reliability: Punctuality and a dependable work ethic are crucial, especially for weekend and holiday shifts.
- Communication: Basic English communication skills to interact with guests and teammates effectively.
