We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alterations Tailor to support our men’s wear operations. In this role, you will focus on executing high-quality garment alterations that meet brand standards and timelines, ensuring each piece is finished with precision and consistency. This position is ideal for a tailor experienced in men’s garments who thrives in a structured, production-focused environment.
This role may require travel to various locations throughout the NY, NJ, and CT tri-state area. All approved travel costs are reimbursed, and any commute time exceeding one hour is compensated.
Responsibilities
- Perform alterations on men’s garments, including hemming trousers, tapering, jacket adjustments, sleeve work, and general resizing
- Execute alterations based on provided specifications and measurements
- Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and attention to detail across all garments
- Track workload and ensure timely completion of all alteration assignments
- Communicate with team members and management regarding order status and timelines
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and properly care for all sewing equipment
- Travel to different locations as needed based on business demand
Qualifications
- Proven experience in garment alterations, preferably in men’s wear or tailored clothing
- Strong proficiency with sewing machines and hand-finishing techniques
- Experience working with suit jackets, trousers, and structured garments preferred
- Familiarity with jacket construction and shoulder work is a plus, but not required
- Ability to follow alteration specifications accurately and work independently
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the tri-state area (NY/NJ/CT)
Pay: $41,600.00 - $69,554.58 per year
