Responsibilities
- Implement behavior intervention plans designed by licensed behavior analysts to support clients with autism and other developmental disabilities
- Collect and record data on client behaviors, progress, and responses to interventions accurately and consistently
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, feeding, toileting, and dressing, promoting independence and self-care skills
- Use evidence-based behavioral management techniques to reinforce positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Collaborate with team members, families, and caregivers to ensure consistency in treatment approaches and share progress updates
- Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and ensure all medical documentation is complete and up-to-date
- Support the development and implementation of individualized care plans tailored to each client’s unique needs
Skills
- Strong knowledge of behavioral therapy principles and applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques
- Experience working with children or individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
- Ability to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) while fostering independence
- Excellent data collection skills to track progress accurately over time
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance
- Compassionate approach to patient care combined with patience and adaptability
- Effective teaching, communication, and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
