Overview
Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and setting up press brake machines to accurately bend and form sheet metal components according to technical specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, precision measurement skills, and a commitment to safety standards. Duties
- Set up and operate press brake machines, ensuring precise bending of sheet metal parts in accordance with technical drawings and specifications.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing instructions to determine proper machine setup and operation.
- Utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and ensure quality control.
- Adjust machine parameters and tooling to achieve desired angles, radii, and tolerances during production runs.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and safety checks on press brake equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members on machine operation, forming processes, and assembly tasks related to sheet metal fabrication.
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of hand tools, measuring instruments, and personal protective equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, measurements, and quality inspections for traceability.
Experience
- Proven experience operating press brake machines within a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Familiarity with CNC programming, CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and other machining processes is advantageous.
- Knowledge of shop math, measurement techniques, and precision measurement instruments essential for quality control.
- Experience with welding, forming machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and other machining tools preferred.
- Understanding of safety standards in production environments and adherence to safety protocols required.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tooling setup procedures, and metal fabrication techniques necessary for efficient operation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
