Duties
- Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-ins and check-outs with efficiency
- Handle medical collections accurately, including processing payments and insurance claims
- Maintain detailed records of pet histories, treatments, and laboratory results using veterinary software systems
- Assist with kennel duties such as animal husbandry, feeding, cleaning, and ensuring animals are comfortable and safe
- Support veterinary staff with tasks like animal restraint, basic animal handling, and preparing animals for procedures
- Manage laboratory samples, perform basic tests, and record results following aseptic techniques
- Facilitate effective communication between pet owners and veterinary team regarding treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up care
Skills
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and restraint techniques to assist in daily operations
- Experience with dog handling, pet grooming, pet care, and animal husbandry to support diverse client needs
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures, aseptic technique, and medical collection processes for accurate diagnostics
- Ability to handle kennel duties including animal catheterization, critical care support, and equine experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for explaining veterinary procedures clearly to pet owners
- Proficiency in managing pet records accurately while demonstrating attention to detail
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior to assist in handling various animals confidently
