Overview
Unique Life, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that supports individuals with unique needs and skills by utilizing a person-centered approach, that allows them to live a meaningful and integrated life within their community. Unique Life Inc. operates under the jurisdiction of OPWDD and conforms to Title 14 Department of Mental Hygiene New York Codes, Rules, and Regulations (NYCRR).
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet and assist people we support, guests, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Monitor building entrances and exits to ensure security and prevent unauthorized access.
- Check identification & visitor logs as required.
- Maintain a lot of all incidents, visitor activity, and deliveries.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, or disturbances and report them to management or authorities.
- Assist with basic concierge duties such as receiving packages and providing directions.
- Assist with enforcing agency policies, including visitor protocols and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Ensure the front entrance and surrounding areas remain clean and organized.
- Notify Personnel of visitors and provide appropriate directions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive during shifts.
- Basic conflict resolution skills and the ability to handle difficult situations calmly.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and perform light physical duties.
- Security license or certification preferred.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Must be available Monday through Friday 9AM to 5PM.
