GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Machine Operator II is responsible for the set up and operation of at least two machines in the metal, wood, or plastics departments. Operator (s) must check the accuracy of parts and maintain accountability for safety during machine operations. This operator can efficiently set up their machine and troubleshoot most programming issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Check machine for performance and the shop order list daily
Run a single part to check for accuracy before running complete shop order
Make adjustments to the machine, as necessary.
Frequently check the parts as the machine is operating for quality audits.
Process parts and off bear to proper container
Complete proper ID tags with shop order number, part number, quantity and operation number.
Maintains assigned work areas in a clean and orderly fashion
Remove Jigs and Dies for next order
Operate forklift as necessary
Must be able to maintain the required adjusted average efficiency
Lock out and/or shut down machine(s) at the end of the day
Responsible for housekeeping around the machine area
Performs other duties, as assigned.
Experience Required:
Required Length & Type of Experience:
Forklift certification
6 months experience in a manufacturing environment
CNC Experience
Demonstrated ability to read engineering prints and interpret measuring equipment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be able to interact and effectively communicate with others in a team based environment
Must be able to maintain the required adjusted average efficiency
Attention to detail
Basic computer skills
Basic math skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operator and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
