Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of common area spaces, including dusting, surface cleaning, floor care, and carpet cleaning to ensure a spotless environment.
- Implement proper cleaning and sanitation procedures using appropriate cleaning detergents and equipment to maintain hygiene standards.
- Handle laundry duties efficiently, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens or other cleaning items.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and specialized floor care techniques.
- Use manual handling skills for heavy lifting tasks such as moving furniture or large cleaning equipment safely.
- Manage janitorial supplies inventory, ensuring all cleaning equipment is maintained and used correctly.
- Communicate effectively with Management and co-workers to understand the needs of the center and provide excellent service.
- Follow safety protocols related to custodial work and outdoor tasks, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with outdoor work when required, maintaining cleanliness in exterior areas or entrance patios as part of comprehensive housekeeping duties.
Requirements
- Proven experience in residential or custodial cleaning roles; janitorial experience is highly valued.
- Knowledge of cleaning surfaces, floor cleaning techniques, carpet cleaning methods, and sanitation procedures.
- Familiarity with various cleaning detergents and equipment used in housekeeping tasks.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively throughout the shift.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with supervisors or co-workers.
- Outdoor work experience is a plus for maintaining exterior spaces or outdoor amenities.
- Demonstrated reliability with a strong work ethic and attention to detail in all aspects of housekeeping.
