Position Summary
The Activity & Dining Support Aide provides assistance during mealtimes and leads engaging recreational activities for residents in an 804 residential care facility serving 24 residents. This part-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with older adults, has a positive attitude, and is committed to enhancing residents' quality of life through compassionate service and meaningful interaction.
Schedule

- 3–4 hour shifts
- Flexible scheduling based on facility needs
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with setting up and serving meals to 24 residents.
- Distribute meals according to residents' dietary requirements and preferences.
- Provide mealtime assistance as needed while promoting resident dignity and independence.
- Clear tables and assist with light dining room cleanup after meals.
- Plan and lead one engaging group activity each shift, such as:
- Bingo
- Arts and crafts
- Games and puzzles
- Music appreciation
- Exercise or stretching
- Holiday or seasonal activities
- Social gatherings and conversation groups
- Encourage resident participation while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Build positive relationships with residents through friendly conversation and compassionate care.
- Report any concerns regarding residents' well-being or participation to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe activity and dining area.
- Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and infection control guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience working with seniors or in a healthcare, assisted living, or residential setting is preferred but not required.
- Friendly, dependable, and patient with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize and lead simple recreational activities.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and assist with light physical tasks.
- Must pass required background checks and meet state employment requirements.
