About the Role:
Looking for a Utility Locator in Albuquerque, NM. You'll identify and mark underground utilities using locating equipment to ensure safe excavation and construction. This role is critical for preventing utility damages and maintaining public safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform underground utility locates following company, state, and utility standards
Use locating equipment (transmitters, receivers, toners) to accurately mark utilities
Read and interpret maps, GIS records, and work orders
Document all activities with photos, notes, GPS data, and completed work orders
Respond to routine tickets, emergency requests, and high-priority projects
Communicate with contractors, homeowners, and utility providers
Maintain equipment and company vehicles
Follow OSHA, 811 guidelines, and state One-Call regulations
Requirements:
Must have a Valid driver's license
Must have transportation
High school diploma
Experience in utility locating, construction, telecom, gas, water, or electrical preferred
Knowledge of One-Call systems and 811 regulations a plus
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
