Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Outpatient Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, within an outpatient setting. Duties
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions using modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and behavioral therapy.
- Implement crisis intervention techniques to manage urgent situations effectively and ensure client safety.
- Engage in case management activities to coordinate care, monitor progress, and adjust treatment strategies as needed.
- Document clinical notes accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems following clinical documentation standards and HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote therapy sessions, ensuring accessibility for clients with diverse needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and families to support holistic client care.
- Conduct mental health assessments for individuals with co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Provide specialized services such as grief counseling, addiction counseling, pediatric therapy, and gender issues counseling as required.
- Maintain compliance with clinical ethical guidelines and stay updated on current research and evidence-based practices in behavioral health.
Experience
- Proven experience working in outpatient mental health settings providing psychotherapy and clinical counseling services.
- Demonstrated expertise in various therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in pediatric or school-based environments is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation.
- Prior telehealth experience is advantageous for delivering remote mental health services effectively.
- Knowledge of clinical documentation standards and medical terminology related to mental health care.
- Ability to manage crisis situations efficiently while maintaining a calm demeanor and ensuring client safety.
- Experience working within HIPAA guidelines ensuring confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
