Qualifications of an ideal Cook:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- CPR Certified
- At least 1 year of related culinary experience
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to follow recipes and practice portion control
- Experience with sautéing, grilling, roasting, braising, searing, baking, and sauce preparation
- Ability to safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment
Cook Job Summary:
As a Cook, you are responsible for creating a high-end dining experience for our residents. Dining services are available seven days a week and feature themed dinners, carving stations, and dessert displays.
- Prepare delicious entrees, soups, vegetables, accompaniments, and garnishes
- Follow all recipes while maintaining proper portion control and presentation standards
- Handle, chop, assemble, cook, and serve a wide variety of foods
- Prepare and present food in an appealing and consistent manner
- Maintain high standards of quality, temperature control, and plating
- Follow nutritional guidelines based on resident care plans
- Safely operate, sanitize, and clean all kitchen and food service equipment
- Ensure the prep station and kitchen are maintained in accordance with food safety guidelines
