Position Summary: The Job Developer plays a critical role in connecting program participants with employment opportunities in high-demand sectors, including Manufacturing, Transportation, Distribution & Logistics (TDL), and other high growth industries. This position is responsible for building and maintaining employer relationships, securing job placements and work-based learning opportunities, and supporting participants’ transition into the workforce.
Position Responsibilities:
Employer Engagement and Partnerships
- Identify and engage employers in manufacturing, TDL, and related high-demand industries.
- Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with employers through outreach, site visits, and ongoing communication.
- Conduct employer site visits to understand workplace expectations and job requirements.
- Create and manage formal partnership agreements with employers outlining roles, expectations, and commitments for job placement and work-based learning.
- Invite employer partners to participate in agency-hosted activities including program tours, mock interviews, curriculum review sessions, and job readiness classes as guest speakers.
Participant Support and Placement
- Match program participants to employment and transitional job opportunities based on skills, interests, and employer needs.
- Work closely with training instructors, case managers, and job readiness staff to ensure participant preparation aligns with industry standards.
- Provide support in resume development, interview preparation, and professional communication.
- Coordinate and document job placements, internships, and transitional job assignments.
Post-Placement and Follow-Up
- Follow up regularly with both participants and employer supervisors after placement to ensure successful onboarding, performance, and retention.
- Address any job-related issues that arise and offer continued support to both the employer and the participant.
- Monitor and track employment outcomes, including job retention and advancement.
Record Keeping
- Maintain and update all data, including but not limited to case files, program documentation, and external data tracking systems.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Mission driven
- B.A. degree preferred, or 4 years related experience
- Bilingual helpful
- Excellent written and speaking skills
- Commitment to community service
