Job Summary
We are seeking three highly detail-oriented HR Data Entry Specialists for an on-site, temp-to-hire opportunity in the Torrey Pines area of San Diego, CA. This role supports a Shared Services HR team within the aerospace and defense industry and is ideal for professionals who thrive in high-volume transactional work, structured processes, and accuracy-driven HR data management.
This position is approximately 95% data entry, focusing heavily on processing personnel transactions, maintaining HRIS records, validating compliance documentation, and executing sensitive status changes. Key Responsibilities
- Data Entry & HRIS Maintenance: Input, update, and maintain employee records within the HR Information System (HRIS) with a 95%+ focus on administrative precision, consistency, and confidentiality.
- Lifecycle Changes: Process and validate high-volume HR transactions, including transfers, organizational changes, promotions, and terminations across standard employee lifecycle stages.
- Compliance Validation: Audit and verify I-9 documentation and employment eligibility records to ensure federal and corporate compliance.
- Quality Control: Review submitted HR actions for completion and accuracy before finalizing system updates; research and resolve data discrepancies independently.
- Records Management: Maintain digital employee files and archives in accordance with data privacy standards and company policies.

Qualifications and Requirements: Required Education & Certifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification: SHRM-CP certification is strictly required (or actively in progress toward SHRM-CP certification).
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of high-volume data entry experience required, with a strong, proven background working directly within an HR environment.
- HR Knowledge: Practical understanding of the standard HR lifecycle, personnel status classifications, and processing organizational updates.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with HRIS databases, Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, and general office productivity tools.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional meticulousness, accuracy, and consistency when handling repetitive, data-heavy tasks.
- Professional Attributes: Ability to work independently, resolve discrepancies, meet fast-paced administrative deadlines, and handle sensitive employee information with absolute confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting HR operations within a regulated industry (Aerospace & Defense, Manufacturing, or Government Contracting).
- Experience working specifically within a Shared Services HR environment.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., sorting, filtering, and reviewing large data sets).
- Familiarity with digital employee file management systems and complex HR compliance documentation.
